Summer Menu Round-Up #3 – Father’s Day Edition

Father’s Day is just around the corner and what better time to host a backyard barbecue?  I have a menu for you that dad’s will love and you’ll love it because much of it can be made ahead of time.  What’s not to love about that?

The star of the show are babyback ribs, which happen to be my husband, Steve’s specialty.  When he makes them, I just stay out of his way and let him work his babyback magic.  While he’s working on that I focus on all of the delicious sides that go great with his ribs.  I feel like BBQ ribs just scream for baked beans, coleslaw and potatoes and all of these recipes can be prepared ahead of time so that you can enjoy the party, too.  You’ll want to wash that delicious meal down with a refreshing blueberry mint lemonade.  Then finish of the meal with a super easy lemon cream pie.

This menu is simply created to please dad on his day! Pork ribs are always a win-win option, and if your husband cooks them, then it will definitely be a masterpiece. I love it when all the dishes can be prepared in advance, it allows you to enjoy the company, and not stand at the stove. But Argentine asado is what I would add to this list to diversify the meat menu
