Almond Butter

I just discovered how incredibly easy it is to make almond butter. It literally takes two ingredients and a little bit of time in the food processor. The result is super fresh and delicious!
What I love about making my own is that I know exactly what’s in it and I have control over how much salt goes into it. If you wanted to, you could also make this salt free, it’s all up to you.
This is the first nut butter that I’ve tried making, but I’m sure you could use this method with whatever nut you like. Although, depending on the nut, the processing time may be slightly different.
Give this one a try yourself and see just how easy it is. It’s really delicious on a piece of whole grain toast for breakfast. I also like to add a little bit of jam, which makes it even more delicious!
Almond Butter
- 1 lb unsalted dry roasted sliced almonds (with no skins)
- 1/2 tsp salt
Place almonds and salt in a food processor.
Process until completely smooth and creamy, about 8 to 10 minutes.
Store in the refrigerator.
ENJOY!

Oh wow! Never knew amking almond butter was that easy! Thanks, will try this soon 🙂
Thanks! I have tried making with hazelnuts, but even after bakng, I had a REALLY hard time getting the skins off. So the butter had flecks of skin (which were not yummy in that consistancy). I will try my hand at almond butter…but use your method of using “naked” nuts.
Thanks for sharing!
I hope you end up giving this a try, Sara. It really was simple and no skins to peel!
What a fabulous recipe! Homemade anything is always better, especially because we can know what’s in it. Love this! Thanks so much for sharing at Weekend Potluck. Please come back soon.
Thank you so much! I agree that homemade is always better and this tastes so fresh and good!
