November 2015 Stitch Fix Review

It’s Stitch Fix time again!  This is my eighth Fix and I am still loving this service.  It’s such a fun surprise every month and it’s been a great way to build my wardrobe and take some chances with pieces that I probably wouldn’t pick out for myself.

If you’re not familiar with  Stitch Fixhere’s how it works, it’s a personal styling service and it’s a great way to add new clothes to your wardrobe. When you sign up for your first fix, you’ll fill out a detailed personal profile so that your stylist has a good idea of your preferences, including your size, style and budget.   For a $20.00 styling fee, your stylist will hand-pick five clothing and/or accessory items that meet your criteria. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll get your first fix within a few weeks.  You can schedule a Stitch Fix to arrive automatically once a month or more or less frequently, whatever’s convenient for you.

Once your package arrives, you have three days to try everything on and see how it works with your existing wardrobe.  If there’s anything you don’t like, just put it in the postage paid envelope that’s included and send it back.  The $20.00 styling fee will be applied to anything that you do purchase and if you purchase all five items, you receive a 25% discount.  If you refer other people to sign upyou’ll receive a $25.00 credit for each person that can be used on future purchases.

This month I asked my stylist, Kim, to send me an infinity scarf  and a necklace.  I pinned a couple examples to my Pinterest board to give her an idea of what I was looking for.  I was happy to find both in my Fix and well as three other pieces.  Here’s what I got:

November Stitch Fix 6

Echo – Hannah Ombre Striped Infinity Scarf ($28.00) – I love infinity scarves.  They’re easy to wear and they can dress up any outfit.  This infinity scarf is perfect, I love the ombre stripe and the colors are great. I also like that it’s a sweater knit, it will be so cozy this winter.  I have a lot of pieces in my closet that this will match, so I think it will be on heavy rotation. Verdict:  Kept

November Stitch Fix

Liverpool – Anita Skinny Pant ($78.00) – These pants are a cross between jeans and leggings.  The fabric is knit, but they have all the detail of jeans.  I love these kind of pants because they’re super comfy and can be dressed up or down.  These particular pants are a nice, thick knit and have just the right amount of stretch.  I already have a pair of pants that are very similar to these, so these needed to have an amazing fit in order for me to consider keeping them.  Unfortunately, the fit was only OK.  They were quite a bit too long and they weren’t as tight around the knees and calves as I would like, so they looked a little baggy  when I tucked them into boots.  Verdict:  Sent back

November Stitch Fix 5

Bancroft – Danielle Long Knot Necklace ($32.00) – How pretty is this necklace?  This is totally my style and I love how versatile it is.  It can be doubled like it is in the picture and even tripled if I want it to be shorter.  It will go with just about everything and is a great way to dress up an outfit.  I’ve already worn it a couple of times and like the scarf, it will be on heavy rotation.  Verdict:  Kept

November Stitch Fix 4

November Stitch Fix 2

Novemeber Stitch Fix 3

RD Style – Jacquie Dress ($88.00) – I was really excited when I took this dress out of the box .  I love the fabric and the color and the zipper detail gives it an edgy look.  I also like that it has long sleeves, which makes it great for winter.  When I tried the dress on, it just wasn’t quite right.  The length was good and it fit well through the hips, but it was a little big in the shoulders and felt a little too big through the waist.  I really wanted to love this dress, but it just wasn’t as flattering on me as I would like.  If I kept it, I think it would end up sitting in my closet.  Verdict:  Sent back

November Stitch Fix 7

Absolutely – Leona Cardigan ($58.00) – This sweater is a winner.  The longer length makes this sweater perfect to pair with skinny jeans or leggings.  The pattern gives it interest and the grey color makes it really versatile with my existing wardrobe.  It’s not too bulky, but it’s heavy enough to be cozy on chilly days. Verdict:  kept

So I ended up keeping three out of five items, which I consider to be a success.  I’m already looking forward to next month’s Fix!
