It’s time for another Stitch Fix review! This is already my fifth fix and I still LOVE the service. It’s so fun to find that package waiting for me by the front door every month with five new pieces of clothing to try out. My stylist, Kim, has been great, she really seems to get my style, but at the same time she takes me out of my box a little bit by sending me some items that I probably wouldn’t pick out for myself.
If you’re not familiar with Stitch Fix, here’s how it works, it’s a personal styling service and it’s a great way to add new clothes to your wardrobe. When you sign up for your first fix, you’ll fill out a detailed personal profile so that your stylist has a good idea of your preferences, including your size, style and budget. For a $20.00 styling fee, your stylist will hand-pick five clothing and/or accessory items that meet your criteria. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll get your first fix within a few weeks. You can schedule a Stitch Fix to arrive automatically once a month or more or less frequently, whatever’s convenient for you.
Once your package arrives, you have three days to try everything on and see how it works with your existing wardrobe. If there’s anything you don’t like, just put it in the postage paid envelope that’s included and send it back. The $20.00 styling fee will be applied to anything that you do purchase and if you purchase all five items, you receive a 25% discount. If you refer other people to sign up, you’ll receive a $25.00 credit for each person that can be used on future purchases.
This month I requested some pieces that would be good for transitioning into fall. I also requested a top that would go with a blazer that I was sent in an earlier fix. Kim did not disappoint and sent some great pieces. I didn’t end up keeping everything, but I still think it was a success. Take a look at what I got.
Market & Spruce – Cauner Terry Hoodie Sweatshirt ($54.00) – I had some mixed feelings about this piece at first. I loved it when I first pulled it out of the box, then I looked at it a little closer and realized it looked kind of short. I tend to like my shirts a little longer, so I didn’t know if it would work. I first tried it on without a shirt underneath and it definitely felt too short. Then I tried it on a second time with a tank underneath and I absolutely loved it. It’s a perfect casual top and it’s super soft and comfy. It will be so cozy to wear once the weather starts to get cooler. Verdict: Kept
Pixley – Maydee Pleat Detail Blouse ($54.00) – This blouse is a perfect transitional piece. While the weather’s still warm, it looks great on its own with a pair of jeans or leggings and I love that it’s longer in the back. As we get into fall, this blouse pairs beautifully with sweaters and the striped blazer I got in my first fix. Verdict: Kept
Moon Collection – Cailin Striped Maxi Skirt ($44.00) – I do have a weakness for maxi skirts and dresses and I do love the colors in this skirt. BUT…I really didn’t feel like I needed another maxi skirt since I already have several. I still gave it a try, just in case I couldn’t live without it. Once I tried it on, the decision was easy to make. I didn’t like the way it fit, it was actually a little too tight and a little too short. Verdict: Returned
Daniel Rainn – Bellamy Crochet Detail Top ($68.00) – This top is one of those tops that takes me outside of my box. I really wasn’t sure about it when I first saw it and I had to try it on a couple of times. Once I started pairing it up with different pants and accessories, it really started to grow on me. I like the way it fits and the color is great. I especially like it paired with skinny jeans and boots, it will be a perfect look for fall. Verdict: Kept
Margaret M – Emer Jacquard Print High Waisted Cropped Pant ($98.00) – I had requested a pair of slim fitting dress pants, so I was very excited when I saw they were included in my fix. I do like the way they fit and they are really comfortable, but I really wasn’t happy that they were cropped. Once the weather gets chilly, I could definitely wear them with boots but I don’t see myself wearing them with any other shoes. I also have another pair of navy blue pants that have a very similar fit, plus they’re not cropped. For $98.00 I just couldn’t justify keeping them. Verdict: Returned
All in all, another successful fix!
